Eyes, the mirrors of the soul, are the major contributing factors to the prettiness of the face and we know of that too well. No matter how adept you are at using eye make-up and no matter how lovely your eyes are, dark circles can be a major damper to all the beauty that eyes can impart to your face.
While dark circles are mostly caused due to nutritional deficiencies and are addressed through dietary changes, some external natural treatments can work wonders when followed religiously and regularly. We’ve listed out some such tips for you.
A widely used remedy for getting rid of dark circles, cucumber never fails to eradicate or at least lighten them when used regularly. All you have to do is cut cucumber into circular slices and place them on your closed eyes and then leave them on for about 15 mins to half hour depending on how much time you can afford to spend on it.
Almond Oil Treatment
Thick dark circles are very likely a result of Vitamin E deficiency. And hence, Almond oil which is rich in Vitamin E when rubbed around the eyes can work miracles in treating dark circles when used every day for over two weeks.
Rose Water Treatment
Nothing rejuvenates the skin like rose water. If constant glaring into a screen or tiredness is the reason for your dark circles, rose water is perhaps the best treatment there is to get rid of them. Dab some rose water onto two cotton balls and place them over closed eyes. Leave them on for 15 mins to half hour. Do this every day for two weeks and you’ll be surprised at the results.
Of all the multitude of benefits that green tea has on us, there are some really surprising less known uses and one of them is that it can actually help you get rid of those dark circles with much ease. All you have to do is dip cotton into some green tea (or chamomile tea) and place them on closed eyes leaving them on for about 15 mins. You can also use used tea bags for this purpose. It leaves you feeling fresh and eventually lightens the dark circles too.
Just like cucumber, potatoes, when cut into circular slices and placed on the closed eyes can do wonders in getting rid of dark circles. While this is a less used remedy, it can be quite effective with slow but definitive results.
In addition to all these, getting a good night’s sleep and taking a break from staring into the screen every 15 minutes can help fight those stubborn dark circles and render your eyes as beautiful as they deserve to be!
