Quick Remedies For Clogged Pores

Skin pores get clogged mainly because of make up residues, dead skin cells, excess sebum and dirt.Clogged pores results in many kinds of skin problems such as acne, whiteheads or blackheads etc.  A good skin care routine is necessary to prevent the clogging of pores.

  • Use a face wash made of glycerin or salicylic acid to cleanse the face.
  • Wet a cotton ball with a little astringent and apply over the face every time after washing the face to control excess oils and remove dirt.face wash
  • Exfoliate twice a week. After exfoliation, rinse with cool water to close the pores.
  • Use homemade natural face masks after exfoliation.
  • Use a good face moisturizer daily.
  • Always remove makeup from face completely before you sleep.
  1. Hot water steam: Place a bowl of hot water over a table or at a comfortable place. Lean over the bowl covering your head with a towel so that the steam do not escape. Allow the steam onto your face for 10-15 minutes. Wipe the face and look into the mirror to check if the pores are opened. If not repeat with steam. If they are opened, wash with a salicylic acid face wash. Rub the skin with an ice cube to close the pores. Apply a witch hazel toner and follow with a good moisturizer.
  2. Dry brush: Clean the face and let it dry completely. With a sterile and dry facial brush, brush your face with gentle strokes in circular motions. Repeat for about 6-10 gentle strokes on each area or maintain discretion according to your skin condition.   3. Fullers earth face mask: Fullers earth removes the stubborn dirt accumulated deep inside the pores. It removes excess oil and also tightens the skin. Take 1-2 tbsp of fullers earth in a small bowl. Add 1 tbsp of lemon juice and mix with a little water enough to make a smooth paste. Apply this over the face and leave until dry. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and rub an ice cube over the skin.
  4. Baking soda exfoliate: Exfoliation is a best way to remove dead cells and prevent clogging of pores. Baking soda is very effective in removing the dead cells and dirt which helps in unclogging the pores. Mix 1 tbsp of baking soda with 1 tbsp of water. Apply this over the face and gently rub in circular motion for 1-2 minutes. Rinse with warm water and then gently rub with an ice cube.
  5. Egg white lemon mask: Pour an egg white into a bowl. Squeeze half a lemon into it and beat well until it is foamy. Apply this over clean face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Repeat twice a week for best results.
