Oats Masala, Tasty Indian Weight Loss Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Oats – 1 cup, dry roasted for 3 minutes
  • Semolina/Sooji – 1/2 cup, dry roasted for 5 minutes
  • Onion – 1, sliced
  • Green Chilies – 2, slit
  • Carrot – 1, peeled and chopped into tiny cubes
  • Capsicum – 1, chopped into small pieces
  • Tomato – 1, finely chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon stick – 1inch
  • Green Cardamom – 1
  • Garam Masala powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves – 2 tbsps, finely chopped
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Ghee – 1 1/2 tbsps
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

  • Heat 1 tbsp ghee and 1 tbsp oil together in a pan. Add cinnamon, cardamom and clove. Saute for 10 seconds and add green chilies and sliced onions. Saute for 3-4 minutes or until the onion pieces turns golden brown.
  • Simmer and add ginger garlic paste. Saute for 3-4 minutes on low flame. Add chopped carrots and capsicum. Saute for 5 minutes. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame. Then add chopped tomato and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Add salt as per your taste and add garam masala. Mix well.
  • Now add 3 cups of water and bring to a boil on high flame.
  • Reduce flame and add roasted sooji slowly as you constantly keep stirring. Keep stirring on medium flame for 2 minutes.
  • Now add oats along with half tbsp of ghee and mix well. Cover and cook on low flame for 3 -4 minutes on a low flame.
  • Turn off the heat. Add lemon juice and mix.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
