- 2 cups of water
- 1 medium sized lemon
- 1/2 tbsp of sabja / basil seeds / tukmaria seeds/falooda seeds
- sugar as required
- a pinch of salt
- a pinch of roasted cumin powder (optional)
- a pinch of chat masala powder (optional)
- mint leaves
Soak the sabja seeds in a cup of warm water for at least one hour and drain the water. Take 2 cups of chilled water, add sugar, salt and squeeze lemon into it. Mix well. Now add the soaked sabja seeds to it. Garnish with roasted cumin powder, chat masala and fresh mint leaves. Add a few ice cubes and enjoy the delicious sabja lemonade.
- 2 tbsp roohafza syrup
- 2 tbsp basil seeds
- 2 cups milk
- 1-2 scoops of ice cream (vanilla or strawberry)
- 3-4 tbsp finely chopped pistachio seeds for garnishing
Soak sabja seeds for about one hour in a cup of warm water and drain. Bring milk to a boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Once the milk is cooled down, add roohafza syrup and mix well. Add the sabja seeds and garnish with pistachio. Enjoy chilled with or without ice cream.
3. Shahi Falooda:
- 1/2 cup of fine vermicelli or falooda sev
- 4 cups chilled milk
- 6 tbsp rose syrup
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pistachio and almonds
- sugar as per your taste
- 3 tbsp sabja seeds
- ice cream of any flavor
Soak the sabja seeds in warm water for about an hour. Mean while, cook the vermicelli in 2 cups of water until tender, for about 4 minutes on medium flame, stirring in between. Strain the water and let the vermicelli cool down to room temperature. Place it in a refrigerator until it is chill. It is highly recommended to use soaked falooda sev instead of vermicelli.
Add sugar to chilled milk and mix well. Take frosted glasses and place 2 tbsp of rose syrup and top with 2 tbsp of soaked sabja seeds, add 2 tbsp of soaked falooda sev. Gently pour chilled milk over it. Add a scoop of ice cream over it. Garnish with pistachio and almonds. Enjoy the most delicious dessert and feel full for longer time.
